Breathing Problems

Within five weeks of our youngest son’s birth he was hospitalized with breathing problems. We were told that he had asthma and we knew from that point forward that we could be in for a tough time. He was immediately put on puffers (ventaline and steroids) and received that medication every day of his life until he was just over two. By the time he was 26 months old his voice was getting very grainy and low and the pediatrician recommended decreasing the medication, just in case he’d developed an infection with his vocal chords. Decreasing the steroids had devastating effects. André was already continually congested, but without the high doses of steroids the amount of mucous his body produced increased and he developed eczema all over his face, especially around his eyes. Needless to say, we tried everything, but the vast majority of the time André was congested with a runny nose and red, sickly eyes. His cheeks were always broken-out and his nose red and raw. When I look back at pictures now, it brings tears to my eyes.

By the time André was four some of the redness was leaving his face, but the congestion remained and that runny nose was never-ending. In the fall of 2001, when André was 4 1/2, a colleague of mine from work was explaining the results she’d experienced from the Forever Healthy Clinic. By now we really felt that we’d tried everything and I was, by now, so skeptical, but I called anyway for an assessment for myself and experiencing firsthand the results, I made appointments for both of my sons. After going to the clinic for about 9 months, André weathered the first cold in his life without any puffers of any kind. At this moment it is March 2003, normally a very difficult time as winter breaks to spring for both of my children and, again, André is getting through this period without steroids and medication.

I can’t say that I honestly understand exactly how everything works at the Clinic, but the results for myself and my sons has amazed me and makes me feel so grateful that I was able to find something to help my children.
