Spring allergies and your child

Once again spring is here and the world outside starts to bloom. The grass is getting green and long. The trees are starting to grow new leaves and tiny blossoms are starting to bloom. The sun starts to shine brighter and the days are getting longer.  Rather than you or your child feeling more energy, you are feeling very draggy. Concentration is down and you are seeing dark circles under your child’s eyes, their nose is running and you find yourself saying “Oh no, spring allergies are back”.

These symptoms your child is experiencing are usually because of allergies. Allergic reactions can mimic a number of health conditions. As well as runny nose/nasal congestion, your child may be having trouble concentrating or even “acting out” in school. A simple trip to the park or a walk outdoors could be making your child ill.

In energy medicine, we refer to blockages on energy channels as allergies. Allergies may not always present with the typical IgE reactions where you experience itchy eyes or a runny nose. It can also present in your child’s behaviour. This can happen with what you may ingest, inhale or touch, most times without even realizing it may be a problem for you or your child.

Pollen season is from early February when the trees start pollinating until November when weed season is finally completed. Depending on your worse month of symptoms you can usually figure out which pollen it is you are reacting to. When the body comes in contact with pollens it increases the histamine levels in the body. These histamine levels cause added stress in the body. As well as pollen allergies, your child could also have food allergies. When you have a vitamin or mineral causing a meridian blockage, the body cannot absorb and utilize the nutrient properly. This challenges and depletes the immune system.

Being aware of all of the possible reactions to food and environmental substances may have you seeing your child’s reactions of the nasal congestion and runny nose and their behaviour in school differently. There probably is a reason for why your child seems to be struggling.

An alternative to suffering or taking medication is to have the allergies eliminated. NAET (Nambudripad’s Allergy Elimination Technique) is very effective in eliminating allergies in most people. Removing these blockages or allergies from the energy channels (meridians) in the body takes the pressure off the glands or organs affected and many, if not all of the physical symptoms will improve. It would be wonderful to see your child be able to enjoy the great outdoors without making them sick. There are so many worlds outside for them to explore and enjoy. Getting rid of their pollen allergies is possible.
